CNR Book Fair

All the booklovers know that, Istanbul Book Fair which is held at the TÜYAP Fair and Convention Center was the first and only book fair for Istanbullers since  1981. From then on TÜYAP has welcomed booklovers from not only Istanbul, but also the nearest cities to Istanbul in every autumn.  It was too hard to wait till autumn for the bookworms but, we don’t have to wait a whole year anymore, because Istanbul has its second book fair now.

Last year CNR Expo held their own book fair and they turned it into an annual one for Istanbullers. CNR Book Fair has not become popular as much as Istanbul Book Fair is, yet, but still having a second book fair is a blessing for us bookworms. Of course it would have been amazing if two book fairs were split the year into two equal parts as one in autumn and the other in spring, but still books are books and the book fairs are book fairs, right?

This year CNR Book Fair going to open its doors between 27 February – 8 March 2015. Its theme for this year is “100th year of Canakkale War”. There are most known publishing houses, non-government organisations, academic institutions and newspaper & magazine groups as exhibitors in CNR Book Fair. Last year 178.450 people visited CNR Book Fair, so their aim for this year is 250.000 people. There are book-signings, children events, talks, panels and competitions during CNR Book Fair. As this year’s competition CNR Book Fair is holding a painting competition about “Canakkale Legacy in its 100. Year” for secondary school students.
